The Local Plan allocates land to accommodate the housing requirement for the 19 year period from 2017-18 to 2035-36. The housing requirement is set at 1,400 homes a year (equating to 26,600 homes over the nineteen year period set out above). This will be met by the development of
allocated sites, continued provision of homes on land with extant planning permission in the early period of the plan period and from future windfall housing development on sites without planning permission at the time of
adoption. To accommodate this source a windfall allowance will be applied later in the plan period.
